Our Story
The inspiration behind Sprintaid Cancer Foundation stems from the personal tragedy of losing their father to cancer in 2018. Through further research, Chiamaka and Michael discovered the critical need for education, research, early detection, and access to basic care, especially for individuals without the financial capacity. The foundation’s imagination began in 2021, fueled by Chiamaka’s studies at NYU and Michael’s ongoing work in cancer detection through advanced data and Artificial Intelligence.
Chiamaka Robinson
Co-Founder, Sprintaid Cancer Foundation
Chiamaka Robinson, previously known as Igbomezie, is a graduate with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from ABUAD and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from NYU. Her academic pursuits, coupled with extensive private research, have unveiled the profound challenges encountered by cancer patients globally, particularly those constrained by financial limitations.
The untimely passing of her father due to cancer in 2018 intensified Chiamaka’s dedication to addressing the hurdles experienced by individuals and families grappling with the impact of this devastating disease.
Michael Igbomezie
Co-Founder, Sprintaid Cancer Foundation
Michael Igbomezie brings a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Applied Data Science from the University of L’Aquila, alongside his academic pursuits.
Michael is actively engaged in the development of software aimed at early cancer detection. Recognizing the urgency of making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by cancer, he co-founded Sprintaid Cancer Foundation with Chiamaka.
Chidera Chizaram Igbomezie
Co-Founder, Sprintaid Cancer Foundation
Chidera Chizaram Igbomezie is a healthcare professional dedicated to improving lives affected by diseases. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, with her research focusing on the anticancer properties of Olax viridis Oliv., resulting in a scientific publication. She also earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Suffolk in the UK.
Chidera works as a Technical Analyst on the HIV team for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Geneva, Switzerland, where she helps allocate grants to combat diseases in low- and middle-income countries. Additionally, she co-founded the Sprint Aid Cancer Foundation to address challenges faced by communities impacted by cancer and other diseases, demonstrating her commitment to public health and disease prevention.
